The sun was bright when she woke, causing her to squint as she tried to open her eyes. She closed them once
more, and stretched languidly, vaguely noting that whatever she was stretching against was softer than her
sheets usually were, and warmer, and something was tickling her neck...
She stopped the movement abruptly, opening her eyes. She wasn't in her room, as she'd thought. No... this was
a man's room. A man she knew. It was him she'd been stretching against, his arm around her, and his mustache
tickling her neck.
She shifted, turning slightly toward him. He was still sleeping soundly. Had she...? No, she thought, they
couldn't have. He would never take advantage of her like that; however, the fact remained that she had woken
in his bed, they were both completely naked, and she didn't remember what had happened last night.
She sighed, and began slowly moving as to get out of bed without waking him. Just when she thought she was
free, his arms tightened around her and pulled her close. He grinned, his eyes still closed.
"Someone was very forward last night," he said suggestively. She could feel her eyes widen as she looked at
him, and he chuckled. She didn't remember ... what had she done?
"I-" she began to protest, but was interrupted as his lips pressed against hers. The next few syllables of
whatever she was about to say were lost as they kissed - not that she remembered or even cared about them,
now. Her hand trailed up his chest, finally coming to rest in his hair, pulling him closer. Sure, she wanted to
know what happened last night - but nothing was more important at this very moment than the intoxicating
kiss she was recieving. She'd never had anyone kiss her like that; it just felt so right, so natural.
After a few blissful moments, he slowly broke the kiss, pulling back enough to gaze down at her. He grinned,
and she smiled softly in return. He looked as if he had something to say that he was quite pleased about.
"What?" she asked, smiling at him. From the look on his face, she assumed she was about to recieve some
sort of compliment, or something of that nature. Half of her wanted to know, while the other half was
ashamed at what she might have done.
He chuckled softly, and she felt his lips press gently against her forehead, and remain there. "Nothing
happened last night," he said, his lips moving over her skin. He pulled back slightly and looked down at her,
an amused smile on his face as he explained the events of the night before. "I woke suddenly to a very naked
you cuddling up against me, thinking I was your favorite pillow. Upon realizing that I was not, you fell out of
bed, and I helped you back in. I tucked a sheet around you for your own decency, but you pushed it off and
forced me to be your personal teddy bear," he joked. "Once you'd gotten comfortable, I pulled the sheet up
over the both of us, and only then allowed myself to look. You're quite cute when you're determined.. and
when you're sleeping," he said, his tone honest and reassuring.
She looked up at him, studying. He had a different expression on his face now, one she couldn't quite read.
She vaguely remembered him hitting on her, but wasn't quite sure of what he'd said, or even if she'd made it
up entirely. "You said something interesting last night, I remember," she recalled, hoping he'd elaborate.
He flushed a little. "Yes, I did," he admitted. "I think it was something along the lines of... 'I was hoping you'd
just decide to take off your clothes and hop into bed with me one day, but this wasn't quite how I'd pictured
it'," he said, recalling his comments of the previous night almost word for word.
"Really?" she asked, curiously. She'd had no idea of his feelings towards her, and wondered what exactly they
were. She felt a pang of hurt; did he only want to sleep with her?
He looked at her, his eyes searching hers. He knew she'd taken that the wrong way the instant it came out of
his mouth. He smiled softly at her as he ran his hand down her cheek and leaned in to kiss her softly, hoping
she could feel the words he couldn't quite form at that very moment. He'd admired her for quite some time,
now, but had been far too shy to act on the attraction.
After he broke the kiss, she returned his gaze, smiling softly. He genuinely liked her - which was good, she
thought, since she'd had a bit of a crush on him herself. She supposed Frued had had a great deal of impact on
her room choice last night.
"So I suppose this means the attraction is mutual?" she asked, the butterflies in her stomach swarming even
though the answer to her question was obvious. He nodded and flashed her a smile, the relief on his face
matching that which she felt. So he was as shy as she was. And honorable, to boot.
"Of course it is," he said, kissing her softly before pulling back, his arms tightening around her. "I love you,
baby - how could I not?"
